A mid-summer's storm brewed in and left something small and beautiful in its wake. Her name is Elise Sakue, named after her maternal grandmothers who watch from heaven. She arrived on August 8th, 2007, at 8:15 am, approximately one week ahead of schedule. After the heavy rains ceased, the clouds parted and summer sunshine returned just in time for happy mom and stormy babe to return home. Pictures of this unique phenomenon are still rare, as the photographers in residence are currently too sleep-deprived and confused to pull out their cameras. However, we're working on getting some classy shots for future posts.
Elise's brother, a little living whirlwind himself, is amused and pleased with the new delivery. He was convinced that he would be getting a baby elephant from the hospital, having recently seen a video of an elephant birth at the zoo. Fortunately, he doesn't seem too disappointed to have a human sister instead.
Congratulations!!! I have been so out of touch-what a wonderful surprise to see Elise!! I hope things are going great for the family of four.
I am living in England now...getting closer to you! We moved to Harrogate, North Yorkshire in Nov and then my husband deployed in Jan, but we're finally all here together and settling in. Please tell the family hello for me, and congrats again on the new addition!! ~gina~
