Der Badekönig

|

Kenneth is a FILO-baby when it comes to swimming pools. FILO, in case you are wondering, means "First In, Last Out". At daycare, the teachers have come up with an even better title, Der Badekönig, or King of the Pool.

At 17 months and 2 weeks, Kenneth relaxes in our private, heated, luxury pool. The heating system is actually very sophisticated: Kenneth yells out when the hose water is too cold and mom runs out with pans of hot water to temper the pool water.

July was a record month for Switzerland, with average temperatures around 20 degrees and frequent jumps to over 30 degrees around mid-day. Kenneth had his choice of swimming locales: private bathing in the backyard pool sent by grandpa from Japan, exclusive swimming in the mid-sized plastic pool at daycare, or masses-of-little-baby-bodies slashing at the packed public pool downtown.
