Over the summer, Switzerland caught World Cup fever. The Swiss team made a very promising start and soon the whole country went wild (well, as wild as the Swiss would permit themselves to be). Grandpa left Kenneth a small soccer ball as a parting gift, mom found a little Swiss team uniform, and a soccer-mad baby was born. Kenneth has worn the uniform countless times to the daycare and the soccer ball has become one of his favorite toys.

Kenneth, at 16 months and 2 weeks, practicing his moves. He's also learned the Zidane headbutt, which he uses on the parents when they least expect it.
Unfortunately, none of the teams with which we had some kind of connection did well this year. Korea, Japan, the US, and Switzerland all dropped out of the playoffs. Kenneth still has his Swiss jersey, but we couldn't find a baby-sized outfits for our other favorite teams. For some reason, there were plenty of Brazilian, Italian, French, and English jerseys (which are all on sale now that the hype is over).
I am glad to see litte Kenny is already training. With footballers' salaries what they are today, you have a vested interest in seeing to his footie development! Consider it your retirement plan. Who needs school?? Get him out on the pitch!
This was super cute.
