Becoming Official

|

May is a month of milestones for our Kenneth. Aside from celebrating his 3 month birthday, he received his American passport and was also baptized. The reality of parenthood has really hit home now. Up to now he wasn’t a citizen of any country. In addition, we were still a relatively unknown family in our new local parish. Now, not only is he officially a U.S. citizen, he is also the youngest and most popular (especially with the old ladies) member of our local church. All we have to do now is to figure out how Kenneth can sign his passport. It states “not valid until signed” by bearer…

[Update: Kenneth’s Godmother, Kristina, who also works at the U.S. State Department and has lots of overseas consulate experience, has advised that a parent sign for him and just add (by mother) or (by father) next to it. Good tip for parents with baby travelers. ]
